China has urged the US to consider the ‘Made-in-China’ uniforms for the US Olympic team in true Olympic spirit that advocates mutual understanding and fair competition.

Over the last few days, the issue of 2012 US Olympic team uniforms designed by Ralph Lauren carry ‘Made-in-China’ label has become a hot topic.

Mr. Harry Reid, the Leader of Senate Majority, had raised the issue during a programme on World News of ABC.

Subsequently, the Democratic Senator from Nevada said that people should take back all of the uniforms, have them burned, then change into new US-made uniforms from head to toe.

Employment has become a very pressing issue in the United States and both Democrats and Republicans are expected to project China as the culprit for unemployment of US factory workers, especially since 2012 is the election year.

Ralph Lauren has issued a statement that future US Olympic team uniforms will be manufactured in the United States.
