US rapper Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs has been called on by labour rights activists to press for better working conditions for textile and apparel workers, particularly in Bangladesh.

Mr. Combs was informed that over 110 workers lost their lives in a fire incidence at the Tazreen Fashion factory, where his fashion clothing line was produced.

Labour rights activists clicked and disseminated several pictures of residues of labelled apparels inside the factory where the severe fire took place on November 25. This includes apparels bearing labels of Mr. Combs clothing line Enyce.

Hong Kong based supplier Li & Fung, Walmart and European chain C&A are some of the companies that have confirmed that got their clothes produced at the factory.

Clean Clothes Campaign, an Amsterdam-based textile rights group said they are sure that the rap star would be stunned to learn that his company is some-how associated with the factory where such a dreadful incidence took place.

The activists group said it would urge Mr. Combs to use his power to press clothing units to ensure better and safe working conditions for workers.

Besides a rap star, Sean John Combs is also recognized as a record producer, actor and an entrepreneur.

Including the 110 workers who lost their lives at Tazreen Fashion fire accident, activists claim that the total number of workers who lost their lives in factory fires in Bangladesh since 2006 has reached around 700.
