Argentina’s ‘Clothing for all’ program has managed to sell over 500,000 units of clothing items in a short span of three months using distribution channels of main hypermarkets and over 120 stores located throughout the country.

The program initiated by the Knit Pro foundation intends to supply a range of apparel and footwear of national quality at lower prices to the consumers.

Launched in May 2013, ‘Clothing for all’ has nearly 100 small and medium enterprises from Argentina involved in the project, generating more than 8,000 direct jobs in the country.

Under the ‘Clothing for all’ programme, seven products, including shirts, t-shirts, jeans, shorts, and socks, were sold with the NYP (Nacional y Popular or Popular National) trademark.

The NYP clothing line was launched by the Argentine President in May 2013 to promote local designers and apparel manufacturers of the country. The clothing line offers every clothing item under 100 pesos.

The NYP initiative is a result of an agreement signed between the Argentinean Domestic Commerce Secretary, Guillermo Moreno, and a group of textile entrepreneurs of Argentina.

The NYP garments are sold in supermarkets, cooperatives, neighborhood organizations, travelling fairs and the Central Market of Buenos Aires in Argentina.

Commercial samples of the clothing items have been recently sent to distributors in the Republic of Uruguay with expectations to close the first export of the NYP brand in the Uruguayan market.
