A group of 321 Colombian exporters, including from the apparel and textile sector, would participate in the ‘Business Match-Making Forum USA and Canada’, which is scheduled to be held on September 4, 2013, in Chicago, US.

According to a statement from the Colombian agency for Promotion of Tourism, Investment and Exports (Proexport), the group of exporters will participate in the two-day business meetings along with 234 buyers from US and Canada, reports Dinero quoting EFE.

The participation is intended to take advantage of the free trade agreements in force established by Proexport, in order to attract foreign investment and international tourism in Colombia.

Maria Claudia Lacouture, president of Proexport, said the participation confirms Colombia as a supplier of all kinds of products, which are generating increasing interests amongst North American importers.

The Proexport president said the North American importers are transitioning between Asia and Latin America, seeking new allies for business in the regions, and Colombia, for the advantages it offers, forms as an ideal partner for them.

Proexport would represent 16 Colombian departments, including apparel and textile sectors, at the business forum.
