Some emerging young designers and apparel firms have joined hands to restore the garment industry and create a national fashion industry in Azerbaijan, reports, abc.az.

The new project is within the ENACTUS program supported by the country’s Ministry of Youth & Sports, according to ‘Youth in Free Entrepreneurship’ association.

Till date, 41 apparel stitching firms, 16 fashion designers, 12 models and 10 clothing collections have become part of this project.

The association said that young university students involved in the project would be given training in apparel stitching, design, business planning, negotiating skills and team activities.

Previously, the project focused on organizing cultural activities, but it can now have a positive impact on the country’s garment industry, which is currently passing through a deep crisis situation, the association said.
