Apparel Park approved for Gujarat at Surat

Government has given green signal to set up three Special Economic Zones (SEZs), in Karnataka, Gujarat and Haryana.
Earlier, the Gujarat Industrial Development Corporation (GIDC) had proposed to establish an Apparel Park in Surat.
This would be second SEZ in Surat, after the setting up of gems and jewelry park in Sachin on its outskirts.
With the sanction of these three special zones, the number of sanctioned SEZs in the country would be 37.
Currently, there are 11 SEZs functioning in India, which includes Kandla, Surat, Santa Cruz, Falta, Chennai, Visakhapatnam and Noida.
