Silver Textile Factory situated in North Karachi, Global Town was found in the midst of blazing fire on January 1. With a near devastation of this garment-towel factory, loss of millions of rupees is expected.
Sources inform that nearly 10 firemen became unconscious due to heavy chemicals found inside the factory. After detailed research it was concluded that the fire was a result of negligence on part of the workers and lack of adequate fire fighting facilities at the factory.
Although workers were immediately rescued and gas and power connection disjointed, it took over six hours to extinguish the flames.
