Hayton Leisure Sportswear Ltd, a Maryport based, sports and leisure manufacturer firm has gone out of business. It was put into voluntary liquidation by the owner, few days before, as it had faced production plunge in recent months and found it hard to continue its operations.
In addition to this, the company lost its major customer- a Cumbrian motorcycle clothing and accessories company, last year, and also witnessed reduction in orders from its customers across the board due to recession.
The staff of the company, both, working for full-time and part-time, would be entitled to redundancy pay outs, said the company owner.
The company receivers would sell off company's machinery.
