The Gorakhpur Chamber of Industries recently demanded setting up a garment park in the district as readymade garments have been included as the second alternative for the state’s One District One Product (ODOP) scheme. The chamber suggested Gorakhpur Industrial Development Authority (GIDA) to allocate 50 acres in Bheeti Rawat area to build a garment park.

Saria said a huge number of garment industrialists are working in the district but the units are scattered.
The chamber has started a survey to compile a list of garment sector industrialists in the district.
