India's Odisha state approves Apparel & Technical Textiles Policy 2022

India’s Odisha state government recently approved seven policies to attract investment ahead of the Make in Odisha Conclave. These include the Odisha Apparel and Technical Textiles Policy 2022, the Industrial Policy Resolution (IPR) 2022, the Odisha Logistics Policy 2022 and the Export Promotion Policy 2022, state revenue minister Pramila Mallick told the assembly.

The Odisha Apparel and Technical Textiles Policy-2022 will boost employment and enhance economic growth in the state. It includes incentives like capital investment subsidy, employment cost subsidy and market development initiative.

The IPR 2022 for next five years aims to transform Odisha into an industrial hub of eastern India by promoting industries in priority sectors of the state.

The logistics policy is expected to create integrated logistics system to enhance competitiveness, operational efficiency and sustainability. It aims to map, develop and augment logistics facilities across the state, improve efficiency of supply chain and decarbonise logistics sector, according to a news agency.

Similarly, the Export Promotion Policy 2022 aims at exporting products worth ₹3.5 lakh crore by 2026-27 and diversifying of the state’s export basket by facilitating value addition.
