Myanmar’s ministry of labour, immigration and population has asked garment units in the Hlaing Tharyar Industrial Zone to set up assessment centres so that workers can receive skill certificates from the National Skills Standards Authority. Skill assessment will improve the quality of factory products and brands, authority president U Win Shein said.

There are 11 skill assessment centres in the country now run by the government, companies or non-governmental organisations.
