Garment has a rough texture ahead

Garment industry of Fiji is in the blues as stakeholders in garment industry do not see any positive picture this year, said Ramesh Solanki, newly appointed President of Footwear, Clothing and Textile Council.

He feared that as international trade levies taxes on garment manufacturers, more people would lose jobs and more factories are likely to close shop, this year.

The council would organize a meeting with Government to find solutions for breathing new life in the sick garment industry, Solanki added.
