Small apparel orders would fetch big returns for Vietnam

Japanese apparel traders have stopped placing big orders and shifted to small orders, and Vietnamese manufacturers should be happy to accept this trend.

Earlier, importers from Japan used to believe that only big enterprises could satisfy quality demands of them, said Junichi Onikubo, Chief Representative of the Japanese Itochu Trading Group.

But importers have come out of this notion and are not concerned with the size of enterprise.

As far as they can meet quality standards, Japanese importers will continue placing orders with small enterprises and provide them opportunities to capture Japanese markets.

Even Japanese consumers like Vietnamese products as they are low priced with fine quality, added Onikubo.

This is a great opportunity for Vietnamese manufacturers to cash on quota free market of Japan and to enhance exports.

The trend has forced Vietnamese apparel manufacturers to give special attention to Japan.

Speaking on the tendency of Japanese traders, Nguyen Xuan Hong, Director General of the Saigon 3 Garment Company, said that they were excessively choosy and demanding high quality products.

This proves that enterprise with quality standards can make a good impression and have a strong foothold to attract Japanese importers.
