After a comparative study of the advantages Chinese textiles have over Indian counterparts, M S Mathivanan, President of Textile Association India observed that Indian textile could improve productivity only by proper training and motivation to its workers.
Inaugurating a national workshop on latest developments in garment machineries and equipment conducted at Kumaraguru College of Technology, Mathivanan expressed confidence over the export potential of industry.
Mathivanan appreciated the college for offering courses and providing trained technicians to the industry.
He foresees export of garments from India would register a five-fold increase in next few years.
