Xiushui market in Beijing was penalized for selling fake international brands of clothing.

During an investigation conducted on April 18, 2006, the local government found some supermarkets involved in this illegal practice.

Shanghai Lianjie Supermarket Co Ltd was fined RMB300,000 as fake brand of the famous label Louis Vuitton found to be sold there.

Recently, Government took further action against Xiushui market for selling fake products.

Last year, five European Garment enterprises filed case against Xiushui Haoshen Apparel Company, owner of Xiushui market, for selling counterfeit products.

After this, company has sacked 12 department managers and also closed certain shops.

However, Beijing High People's Court felt that action taken by the company was not sufficient.

Therefore, court has recently imposed penalty of US $24,700 on the company.
