In 2006, Jiangxi Province started rapid development of three provincial textile and apparel industry base, including that of Kongging City.
The city was awarded title of 'China's Clothing City' in May, 2006. At present, more than 180 textile and garment units are located in the city and sales reached RMB1.77 billion in last year, a year-on-year increase of 53.9 percent.
Even regional brands are also established gradually such as Huiyuan brand's eiderdown clothing, which was included in 'national quality inspection free products' last year.
In last six months of 2006, Provincial Government invested in innovative service platform of eiderdown Clothing Industry Base and the innovation service centers of clothing technology to facilitate medium and small scale industries.
