Federal Minister for Textile Industry, Mushtaq Cheema, revealed that the construction work of Faisalabad Garment City (FGC) will start within next two months.
He said that the garment cities were an attempt to encourage local manufacturers to produce high-quality apparels, so as to attract foreign exchange.
The facilities will be rented out to traders, which will help them in dealing with all the necessary social and environmental issues.
Cheema urged the Faisalabad Garment City Company (FGCC) BOD for a speedy conclusion of this project and promised that the required funds for this Rs600 million development will be released soon.
This city is also expected to generate employment opportunities for thousands.
