Government didn't include RMG sector in the stimulus package framed to tackle the impacts of global economic recession, for which BNP Chairperson and the Leader of the Opposition Ms. Khaleda Zia criticized the government and demanded to allocate funds immediately for the sector.
She was speaking at the concluding ceremony of Bangladesh Apparel and Textile Exposition (Batexpo) 2009. Such kind of a practice is unfortunate for the highest forex-earning sector, she added.
Due to this decision taken by the government, in the current situation, the garment sector may find it difficult to keep contributing to country's economy, said the opposition leader.
