UK retailers enjoyed their best December 2005 in four years

The latest figures from British Retail Consortium BRC reveals that like-for-like sales rose 2.6 percent in December 2005, the best year-end month for British retailers in four years and the best monthly figure since a 3.7 percent rise in May 2004.
Food sales remained good while clothing and footwear sales slowed a little from November.
