Dr Toufiq Ali, Bangladesh Mission Chief in Geneva suggested that the players in Ready Made Garment (RMG) sector should recognize their priority items and explain the country's mission in Geneva.
This will encourage the inclusion of those items in the duty-free products list by the WTO.
Dr Toufiq was discussing the issue with the leaders of Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA).
He also recommended bilateral negotiations with the US for duty-free access to the US markets.
Tipu Munshi, President, BGMEA, informed that the priority items were to be included in the 97 percent duty-free list.
BGMEA is the only government recognized trade body that represents the export oriented garment manufacturers and exporters of Bangladesh.
