SAFA has announced a change in Bafana Bafana kit sponsorship from Puma to Nike.

The COSATU-affiliated Southern African Clothing & Textile Workers’ Union (SACTWU) has called for a formal meeting with SAFA to clarify what local manufacturing targets have been set for the new supporters’ kit.

SAFA says, “We have had similar and successful engagements with the immediate two sponsors (Adidas and Puma) previously.

“We are of the view that it is important for local jobs, local manufacturing capacity, local economic development and national pride that priority be given for these kits to be manufactured domestically, in South Africa.

“We await a response from SAFA President, Danny Jordaan, in this regard”, it concluded.
