Overall retail sales in March 2006 rose by 40 percent compared to February 2006. Total retail value in March 2006 was estimated at $2,896 million compared to $2,067.9 million in February 2006.
Wearing apparel and footwear sales rose 9.3 percent in March 2006 compared to same period last year while sale of watches and jewelry rose 1.9 percent in March 2006 compared to same period in 2005.
