Bangladesh's BGMEA, China's MAQI Technology Group sign training pact

The Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) and China’s MAQI Technology Group recently signed a strategic partnership aimed at elevating the capabilities and competitiveness of the domestic readymade garment (RMG) industry by training workers in cutting-edge technology and use of advanced machinery.

The initiative will set up modern lab facilities where sewing interns can hone their craft.

Euromac, Italian company based near Modena, will offer advanced machines and technical support to both BGMEA and the BGMEA University of Fashion and Technology (BUFT) for the initiative, according to domestic media reports.

Amid evolving market dynamics, BGMEA president Faruque Hassan highlighted the pivotal role of technology and skill development in ensuring the industry's relevance and sustainability.
