The Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) has launched a roadmap that outlines avenues and plans to achieve the target of $50 billion from readymade garment (RMG) exports by 2021.

The book titled “Bangladesh RMG Roadmap: Targeting US$ 50 Billion Export by 2021” has been jointly prepared by BGMEA and the RMIT University, Melbourne, Australia.

Unveiling the roadmap at a programme held in RMIT University, BGMEA president Md. Siddiqur Rahman said that the roadmap would serve as a useful guideline to attain the RMG Vision 2021.

Expressing his firm optimism, Rahman said that with more than three decades of experience in RMG industry, entrepreneurial skills, huge workforce, and support from the government policy and other stakeholders, Bangladesh will be able to achieve RMG export target of $50 billion. (RKS)
