Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA), Directorate General of Family Planning (DGFP) and Engender Health Bangladesh (EHB) have signed a tripartite Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to brace family planning service in readymade garment (RMG) factories, according to the BGMEA website.

The MoU aims at strengthening family planning service provision within the premises of garment factories.

The objective would ensure DGFP family planning commodities and other applicable services to be available within the RMG factory premises and improve knowledge on family planning information and services among the garment workers.

Under the MoU, Engender Health Bangladesh would provide training to clinical service providers working at garment factory clinics.

BGMEA, on the other hand, will provide support to individual garment factories to place indent for required family planning commodities to concerned Family Planning Office and guide and monitor the garment level commodity distribution activities. (NA)
