A major trend in Russia is the rising popularity of casual style footwear like sneakers, slip-ons and canvas shoes, according to Anton Titov, chief executive officer of Russian footwear firm Obuv Rossii. For the last several seasons, the share of high heels in women's collection has been declining and that of casual style, comfort flat shoes growing, he said.

The trend of seen not only in spring-summer collections but also in autumn-winter ones, he told Fibre2Fashion in an interview.

While footwear made of synthetic leather and other materials is in high demand in mainland Europe, Russia has not witnessed the same trend as winter is very cold and people still prefer footwear manufactured of natural leather and fur, he added.
