EU27 and UK had collectively imported 45.626 million coats worth $691.129 million in the second quarter of this year, down from $1,029.135 million (67.840 million coats) in the first quarter of this year, according to Fibre2Fashion’s market insight tool TexPro.
The region imported 162.484 million coats worth $3,917.070 million in the fourth quarter of 2021, as per TexPro. The inbound shipment was $3,103.417 million (144.387 million units) in the third quarter, $1,089.590 million (46.586 million) in the second quarter and $1,763.105 million (78,341 million) in the first quarter of last year.
The import of coats increased in the third and fourth quarter of 2021 over the previous quarter due to seasonal trends but declined on yearly basis due to economic downturn and geo-political tensions. The region had imported coats worth $9.873 billion (431.800 million units) in 2021, $8.705 billion (398.774 million) in 2020 and $9.988 billion (472.938 million) in 2019.
