The global import value of apparels grew 5.54 per cent to $4,12,978.66 million in 2019 from $3,91,305.30 million in 2017, according to
Fibre2Fashion's market analysis tool TexPro. Total imports decreased 1.74 per cent in 2019 over the previous year and is expected to increase to $4,24,945.13 million in 2022 with a rate of 2.90 per cent from 2019.

China ($1,45,327.75 million), Vietnam ($31,377.60 million), Italy ($25,728.29 million) and Germany ($23,873.25 million) were the key exporters of apparels across the globe in 2019, together comprising 51.04 per cent of total export. These were followed by India ($16,251.30 million), Turkey ($16,064.13 million) and Spain ($15,641.72 million).

US ($84,727.52 million), Germany ($38,480.41 million), Japan ($27,999.84 million), France ($24,541.51 million), UK ($24,144.66 million) and Spain ($20,857.09 million) were the key importers of apparels in the globe in 2019, together comprising 53.45 per cent of total import. These were followed by the Netherlands ($17,728.75 million), Italy ($17,479.00 million) and Hong Kong ($10,463.34 million).
