Global trade of shawls, scarves, mufflers, veils decline

The global trade of shawls, scarves, mufflers, mantillas, veils and the likes (not knitted and crocheted) have been declining. Total trade dropped 8.19 per cent from 2017 to 2019, according to data from TexPro. Global trade of shawls, scarves, mufflers, mantillas, veils and the likes were $7,646.15 million in 2017, which fell to $7,019.67 million in 2019. 
 
The total trade of shawls, scarves, mufflers, mantillas, veils and the likes have reduced 7.80 per cent in 2019 over the previous year and is anticipated to slash to $6,183.27 million in 2022 with a rate of 11.92 per cent from 2019, according to Fibre2Fashion's market analysis tool TexPro.
 
The global export of shawls, scarves, mufflers, mantillas, veils and the likes were $4,417.22 million in 2017, which declined 10.31 per cent to $3,961.95 million in 2019. Total exports dropped 6.12 per cent in 2019 over the previous year and is expected to curtail to $3,365.49 million in 2022 with a rate of 15.05 per cent from 2019.
 
The global import value of shawls, scarves, mufflers, mantillas, veils and the likes were $3,228.92 million in 2017, which decrease 5.30 per cent to $3,057.72 million in 2019. Total imports cut by 9.89 per cent in 2019 over the previous year and is expected to weaken to $2,817.78 million in 2022 with a rate of 7.85 per cent from 2019.
 
China ($1,580.37 million), Italy ($606.81 million), France ($525.74 million), and India ($421.47 million) were the key exporters of shawls, scarves, mufflers, mantillas, veils and the likes across the globe in 2019, together comprising 79.11 per cent of total export. These were followed by Germany ($107.97 million), UK ($106.54 million) and Hong Kong ($86.72 million).
 
From 2015 to 2019, the most notable rate of growth in terms of export value, amongst the main exporting countries, was attained by France (38.61 per cent) and Italy (12.74 per cent).
 
US ($407.91 million), France ($381.63 million), Japan ($261.88 million) and Germany ($207.67 million) were the key importers of shawls, scarves, mufflers, mantillas, veils and the likes across the globe in 2019, together comprising 41.18 per cent of total import. These were followed by Italy ($174.42 million), China ($174.36 million) and UK ($166.95 million).
 
From 2015 to 2019, the most notable rate of growth in terms of import value, amongst the main importing countries, was attained by the France (18.02 per cent).
