House of Fraser names new buying & merchandising director

House of Fraser, the UK and Ireland’s premium department store group, has announced the appointment of Simon Pickering who will be joining the firm in the newly expanded role of buying and merchandising director for apparel and accessories. Simon has over 25 years’ experience in the retail industry and worked at Reiss, where he was chief digital officer.

Simon previously held director roles leading the buying, merchandising, and design functions across a range of retailers including Fat Face, Arcadia Group, Debenhams, and Gap.

Simon will join the company on February 12, 2018, and will take on buying and merchandising for apparel and accessories, across House of Fraser’s house brands, own bought, and concessions. He will also be responsible for product quality. Simon will report to Maria Hollins, executive director of product and trading.
