India has set up a group of secretaries to be chaired by the secretary in the Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion (DIPP) to look into the issues raised on some proposals of the draft e-commerce policy. The first meeting of the group is likely to be held this week. DIPP has reportedly ruled out foreign direct investment in inventory-based e-commerce.

Secretaries from the ministry of electronics and information technology and department of commerce and representatives of government think tank Niti Aayog and department of economic affairs are also members of the group, according to a news agency report. (DS)
