An Italian private equity firm Armonia has acquired a majority stake in premium apparel brand Aspesi, through its Harmony Italy Fund for an undisclosed sum, while the founder of Aspesi, Alberto Aspesi retains a minority stake. Aspesi is known for its quilted nylon jacket, swollen like the Michelin puppet and has eight lines, all with a unisex cut.

"Aspesi is a ‘Made in Italy’ brand at which we aim, with our resources and our expertise, to enhance and grow,'' Alessandro Grimaldi, CEO of Harmony was quoted as saying by media reports.

Aspesi was founded as A&D-Camiceria in 1969 by Alberto Aspesi, which was later changed to Bagarre of Alberto Aspesi in 1973, and once again changed to its current name in 1990. (AR)
