Japanese firm United Arrows' sales increase 3.8% in 9M FY23

Japanese clothing brand United Arrows has reported total sales of 99.704 billion yen (approximately $667.51828 million) for the first nine months of fiscal 2023 (9M FY23), ending December 31, 2023, marking a 3.8 per cent increase year-on-year (YoY).

However, the company reported downturns across its profit indicators. Operating profit saw an 8.9 per cent decrease to 5.817 billion yen, in stark contrast to the substantial 247.7 per cent increase witnessed the year before. Ordinary profit also experienced a downturn, decreasing by 5.5 per cent to 6.359 billion yen compared to a 153.1 per cent increase in the previous year. Furthermore, net income attributable to owners of the parent company declined by 2 per cent to 4.253 billion yen, a significant shift from the 234.9 per cent surge reported in the previous year, United Arrows said in a press release.

Earnings per share for the nine months stood at 152.66 yen, a slight increase from 152.32 yen in the same period of the prior year.
