Wacoal Holdings Corp, a Japan-based manufacturer of women's lingerie and underwear, has reported a slight decrease in revenue by 0.7 per cent to ¥187.208 billion (approximately $1.2 billion) in fiscal 2024 (FY24), compared to ¥188.592 billion in the previous fiscal. Business profit saw a significant decline of 14.4 per cent, totalling ¥3,.51 billion, down from ¥4.1 billion in fiscal 2023.

The operating loss widened to ¥9.503 billion, compared to an operating loss of ¥3.490 billion in the prior year. Additionally, the loss before income taxes and equity in net profit of affiliated companies deepened to ¥8.290 billion, up from ¥699 million in the previous year. The net loss attributable to owners of the parent company increased to ¥8.632 billion, a substantial rise from ¥1.643 billion in fiscal 2023, the company said in a press release.

Despite the increased losses, total comprehensive income grew remarkably by 293.4 per cent, reaching ¥16.792 billion, compared to ¥4.268 billion the previous year. Basic and diluted loss per share were both recorded at ¥151.62, a significant increase from ¥27.44 in fiscal 2023.
