Global fashion brands and retailers like Boohoo Group, PVH Corp and Levi Strauss have joined the list of companies who have temporarily suspended services and sales in Russia amid the country’s invasion of Ukraine. American clothing brands PVH Corp and Levi Strauss have also announced donations to provide aid to those impacted by the ongoing conflict.

PVH Corp has also paused all commercial activities in Belarus. “This decision follows additional steps we have taken with regard to our business operations in the region, including suspension of our e-commerce sites in Russia on February 28th,” the company said in a statement.

“The PVH Foundation is continuing our philanthropic efforts through a corporate donation to the Red Cross and support of relief organisations in the region who are working to bring crucial supplies to those in need in heavily impacted areas of Ukraine and along its borders. Our associates continue to donate to organisations in Europe through GlobalGiving's Ukraine Crisis Relief Fund where their donations are double matched,” PVH Corp said.

“Immediately following the invasion, the Group suspended sales to Russia, and also closed its Russian trading websites. Sales made by the Group into Russia are not material, totalling less than 0.1 per cent of Group revenues,” Boohoo Group said in a statement.

Levi Strauss is donating more than $300,000 to nonprofit organisations. The company and the Levi Strauss Foundation are giving $200,000 to the International Rescue Committee, which is helping to support individuals and families displaced by the conflict, while the company’s Beyond Yoga brand is giving $100,000 to CARE, which is responding to the immediate needs of the people of Ukraine, the company said in a media release.

In addition, Levi Strauss is offering employees a 2-to-1 match, up to $200,000, for donations to a slate of organisations. The company and its licensee partners are also working to donate jackets, backpacks and warm clothing to people who have been displaced from their homes.

In 2021, approximately 4 per cent of the Levi Strauss’s total net revenues were derived from Eastern Europe, half of which was related to Russia.
