New York based cashmere line Minnie Rose also met with a steady stream of West Coast boutiques from Los Angeles, Palm Desert and Sonoma, including Planet Blue. “We were non-stop busy this entire Show,” said sales rep Vanessa Rojas. “We did some amazing business and will definitely be back.”

Dale Pike of Deepa Gurnani added, “The traffic at SELECT was unbelievable. I didn't take one break the first day and met with accounts from territories I don't usually hit such as Colorado, New Mexico and Utah. Buyers were interested in all my accessories categories too which resulted in good quality orders.”

In the CMC's 13th floor Penthouse, FOCUS Apparel & Accessories Show and TRANSIT LA Shoe Show both took place from Monday, June 13, 2011 – Wednesday, June 15, 2011. Emerging designers exhibiting at FOCUS included Frenzii, Sweet Lola, N…P, Lucy Love, Sonas Denim, Jill Joanne, Mystree, Mon Bijou and many more. Additionally the F2 Runway Show kicked off FOCUS Monday June 13, 2011 at 12:00pm and featured brands such as FOCUS exhibitor Zuur Jeans, SELECT exhibitor Jewel Wraps and Annie & Jade by Annie Le to name a few. Complimentary cocktails were served by Mascarade Liquor, as well as Honest Tea Iced Teas, which were the exclusive drink sponsor for both FOCUS and TRANSIT.

“The Runway Show was great for us,” said Candice Holmes of Zuur Jeans. “It generated a great buzz and brought in a significant amount of buyers.”

The B-Wing of the Penthouse (13th floor) hosted TRANSIT LA Shoe Show, showcasing hundreds of contemporary shoe collections including Jeffrey Campbell, Irregular Choice, Report Signature, DV by Dolce Vita, Steve Madden, Kelsi Dagger, Matiko, Gee Wawa, All Black, Vince Camuto, Jessica Simpson, L.A.M.B., Badgley Mischka, Donald J Pliner, The Frye Company, Seychelles, Calvin Klein and many more.

“We had a good Show,” said Lionel Oliveira of The Frye Company. “We saw a steady stream of buyers each day including Sole Mates in Colorado, JMR Chalk Garden and Hideaway Golf Club and opened several new accounts. Our newly launched handbag extension also did well.”

“We have been seeing a steady increase in overall attendance at our Shows this year,” said Audrey Okulick, CMC Spokesperson. “The surge of retailers that shopped our building reflects an exciting upswing in the Market.”

The Holiday/Resort 2011 LA Fashion Market will take place August 8-11, 2011 with showrooms open for Sunday preview August 7.
