BGMEA places skill development on top priority

Training Programme for Capacity Building for RMG Workers and Management: The BGMEA is implementing a training programme, designed by the Government for the existing workers and mid-level management, in collaboration with the Export Promotion Bureau (EPB). The programme, which is being financed by the Ministry of Commerce (MoC), has 93 batches for workers and 24 batches for mid-level management.

Skills and Training Enhancement Project (STEP): With the objective of training a total of 2500 people in garment sector, BGMEA has stepped forward with Directorate of Technical Education (DTE) under the control of Ministry of Education. This project is currently in the pipeline and is likely to be funded by the World Bank.
