A garment division is being set up in Sayli at Silvassa with an initial investment of Rs 1,200 crore by Silvassa based Alok Industries.

It will start its operations by March this year and would export its garments mainly to the US and the European countries.

The new plant will integrate all its processes and add value to its products.

It will be a composite unit having made-ups and spinning too, said a company official based in Mumbai.

The company manufactures woollen fabric.

It has three units in Silvassa for weaving, texturising and knitting.
