Garments Sramik O Shilpa Rakkha Jatiya Mancha, Sramik Karmachari Oikya Parishad, National Garments Workers Federation and Garments Sramik Oikya staged a protest rally wearing black clothes and carrying a symbolic coffin at Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) office.

They were protesting against building collapse at Phoenix garment premises where twenty-one workers were killed and the blaze at KTS Textile Factory where 54 workers, mostly females were charred to death.

Sramik Karmachari Oikya Parishad has planned protest march at Muktangaon on March 12 and at Kalurghat on March 9 to demand punishment for people responsible for accidents at KTS and Phoenix Garments, and reasonable compensation for workers.
