Costco Wholesale June sales up 8%

For the forty-four weeks ended July 7, 2013, the Company reported net sales of $87.05 billion, an increase of eight percent from $80.46 billion during the similar period last year.

For the five-week period, changes in gasoline prices had a slightly positive impact while foreign exchange rates had a negative impact on comparable sales. These impacts were immaterial for the 44-week period.

Costco currently operates 628 warehouses, including 450 in the United States and Puerto Rico, 85 in Canada, 33 in Mexico, 24 in the United Kingdom, 15 in Japan, nine in Taiwan, nine in Korea and three in Australia.
