Spanish apparel retail chain Mango, which started eyeing Russian market for growth over the past few years, now has Russia as its fifth largest market, according to Noticiero Textil.

During 2012, Russian market contributed € 94.2 million to the firm’s total sales revenue of € 1.69 billion.

Mango today operates around 144 outlets in Russia, which includes outlets in cities like Krasnodar, Volgograd, Obninsk, Perm, Blagoveshchensk, Rostov, Barnaul, Syktyvkar, Nizni Novgorod, and Ufa. The retailer plans to launch 20 more outlets by end of the ongoing year.

As a part of its consolidation drive for Russia, the apparel retailer recently presented its autumn/winter 2013 ‘Rock It Up’ collection in Moscow.

The collection featuring pieces with much influence of black, also included features like a soft feel in washes and drying effect introduced with the pastels, small graphics and jacquards. Also, there were silhouettes influenced by exotic East.

The collection has been put up for sale in select outlets in several countries including Russia.

Next, the brand even plans to present its intimates collection for Autumn/winter 2013/14 in mid-August, which would be featured in over 150 Mango outlets across Spain, Germany, Austria, Turkey, Portugal, France, UK, Switzerland, Belgium, Italy and above all Russia.

The range would include basic designs in microfibre, underwired & non-padded, push-up and multi-position bras which can be matched to classic briefs or hipsters. The collection comes in black, nude and bottle green colours.

Mango is also set to launch two new lines—Mango Kids and Mango Sports—this fall, while a line for youth and mature women would be launched next year.

The firm eyes € 1.98 billion in revenues by end of the current year.
