The award winning adizero cycling jersey is perfectly suited for fast hot weather riding and offers incredible 65gram lightness whilst still maintaining great protection for riders. The adizero jersey combines breathable, stretchable, wind protecting fabric with an engineered knitted rear panel designed to quickly dissipate moisture.
Despite incorporating stretch-reducing elements throughout the jersey’s panels, practical considerations have not been forgotten with two ergonomically-placed rear pockets rounding out its versatility.
The adizero cycling jersey is the culmination of decades of adidas innovation within the cycling industry, and the unmatched apparel design knowledge of the world’s leading multisport specialist brand. At 65grams, the adizero is currently the industry’s lightest short sleeve cycling jersey.
Bernhard Knoche (Global Director for adidas cycling) says “adidas’ heritage in cycling dates back many decades. With our recent apparel innovations across many sports and the work we’d done directly with British Cycling, we made a strategic decision to renew our focus on the cycling market again. We wanted to bring to consumers the benefits of the innovations we had developed directly with our sponsored athletes and cycling partners,” said Knoche.
“We noticed that most of the cycling hard goods sector was taking inspiration from aerodynamics as well focussing on reducing the weight of their products. Being a cycling soft-goods-only manufacturer, this industry focus on aerodynamics and lightness encouraged us to push the boundaries when it comes to cycling apparel too. ”
“When designing and developing the adizero cycling jersey, we took inspiration from other adizero products and innovations that adidas has developed. We found synergies across multiple sports – football, training, tennis for example - where adidas had set industry leading benchmarks for lightness.
Using our specific knowledge of cycling, we were able to apply what we’d learn from other sports to a cycling environment in order to create a cycling jersey ideally suited for fast hot weather riding, with unbelievable 65gram lightness, breathability and protection,” says Knoche.
“adidas is very proud to have received a gold award at the Eurobike Awards and we are looking forward to sharing more innovative cycling products with enthusiasts in coming years,” says Knoche. The adizero cycling jersey will be available in retail stores from Spring 2014.
