Talon International Q3 sales increase 21.6%

Sales and marketing expenses for the third quarter of $1.6 million increased $363,000 from the same quarter in 2012, reflecting increases in the global sales force and higher sales commissions from the increase in sales volumes.

General and administrative expenses for the third quarter totaled $2.1 million, essentially flat with the general and administrative expense for the same quarter in 2012.

Operating expenses for the nine months ended September 30, 2013 were $10.6 million, or 26.1% of sales, as compared to $9.9 million, or 29.8% of sales, in the first nine months of 2012.

Sales and marketing expenses for the nine months ended September 30, 2013 rose to $4.4 million from $3.5 million for the same period in 2012. General and administrative expenses for the nine months ended September 30, 2013 totaled $6.2 million, representing a decline of $225,000 from the same period in 2012.

Net income for the quarter ended September 30, 2013 was $700,000 as compared to net income of $187,000 for the same quarter in 2012. Net income for the nine months ended September 30, 2013 was $2,243,000, nearly three and one-half times higher than net income of $652,000 in the same period in 2012.
