Adidas appoints Tushar as Brand Director-Emerging markets

Adidas, the German multinational corporation that designs and manufactures clothing and accessories, and sports shoes, has appointed Tushar Goculdas as brand director-Adidas Emerging Markets.
 
Goculdas, who is presently brand director Adidas India, will take over the new assignment from March 1, 2015.
 
In his new role, Goculdas would be based out of Dubai and will be responsible for strengthening and growing the Adidas brand and reinforcing the brand’s connection with consumers and athletes within Adidas emerging markets, comprising the Middle East, Africa, part of Eastern Europe and the Indian subcontinent.
 
Goculdas has led the marketing function at Adidas India since October 2008 where he strengthened and grew the brand by making significant enhancements to Adidas’ athlete portfolio, Adidas said in a statement.
 
As brand director-Adidas Emerging Markets, Goculdas will report directly to Osman Ayaz, managing director of Emerging Markets Adidas Group.
 
Goculdas succeeds Dave Thomas, who was recently appointed as the new managing director for Adidas Group India.
 
An alumnus of IIM-Ahmedabad and Delhi College of Engineering, Goculdas has worked at Boston Consulting Group, Colgate-Palmolive and Whirlpool, prior to joining Adidas.
 
Employing more than 50,700 people in over 160 countries, Adidas Group produced more than 650 million product units and generated sales of €14.5 billion in 2013. (RKS)
