Bangladesh Knitwear Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BKMEA) requested Government to release cash incentives of Tk 500 crore to the sector.
Knitwear sector which is facing paucity of funds may end succcumb to another labour crisis on account of failure in paying wages before the forthcoming festival.
BKMEA leaders requested for release of cash incentive when they met the Finance Adviser Akbar Ali Khan at his office.
Khan promised to take necessary measures for release incentives and also instructed the profile committee on apparel sector to accord top priority.
