CMAI gives away apparel-fashion Apex awards

Clothing Manufacturers Association of India (CMAI), in association with Zoom, declared the fashion and apparel categories of Max style Apex Awards in Mumbai on December 25, 2006.

CMAI started the annual award function in 2003 to honour garment makers who could convert their dresses into lifestyle elements.

Kewal Jain, Chairman of Kewal Kiran, was declared Brand Entrepreneur of the year. C L Raheja won ‘Retail Entrepreneur of the year’. B S Nagesh, Managing Director of Shoppers’ Stop, won ‘Retail Professional of the year’ award.

Captain C P Krishnan Nair, Chairman of Leela Palaces and Resorts, was given the Lifetime Achievement Award for his efforts in the handloom sector.

Apparel brands including Allen Solly, Louis Phillipe, Spykar Jeans, Gini and Jony, United Colours of Benetton and Madura Garments were the awardees.

Zoom has entered into a five year contract with CMAI for being media partners at the award functions.
