In order to attract investors to any particular region, there are many ways and means available for any government and some of the governments have been successful, as we have seen, in other developing countries. This might be the first of a kind in the whole world where government is trying close down factories in one area and locating them to another for more employment and easy of work-load.
Some of the investors are seen going to the extent of commenting "This is might be a start of PSDS (Private Sector Development Strategy), initiated by the same Ministry.”
Under the licensing regulations, the Upan Wasana EPZ Ltd has been granted two licenses, namely, a commercial license and a manufacturing license. The concept of a company operating under both Commercial (Buying office) and Manufacture of garments license is a novelty in Kenya, this being the first company to be granted such a license by the Export Processing Zones Authority.
