Owners of apparel units demanded that corrupt Government officials, who do not bother to work unless taking bribe, should be taken to task.
A delegation from Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters' Association (BGMEA), headed by its President S M Fazlul Hoque met A B Mirza Md Azizul Islam, Finance and Commerce Advisor at his office on January 23, 2007.
BGMEA complained that officials at Chittagong Seaport, Customs and NBR forwarded files only after taking bribe at every stage. It also requested Government to revive sick garment factories.
