New York & Company comparable store sales up 2.7%

New York & Company Inc, a specialty apparel chain with 560 stores, announced that total net sales for the four-week period ended March 3, 2007 increased 8.9% to $87.7 million, as compared to $80.6 million in the four-week period ended February 25, 2006. Comparable store sales increased 2.7% for the four-week period ended

March 3, 2007 as compared to a comparable store sales decrease of 12.8% for the four-week period ended March 4, 2006.

Richard P. Crystal, Chairman and CEO stated: "We were pleased with our comparable store sales increase of 2.7%, in the context of the adverse weather conditions we experienced during the month of February. As we move into March and the height of spring selling we believe our new spring line will resonate well with our customers."

The Company opened one new store and closed one store in February, ending the month with 560 stores and 3.3 million selling square feet in operation.
