Vietnam Textile and Apparel Association (Vitas) has revealed that a proposal to abolish Monitoring mechanism for several apparel product categories, which began from January 11, 2007, has been submitted to the US Department of Commerce.

The proposal named five product categories including trousers, shirts, underwear, bathing clothes and jumpers.

Recently, Vietnam claimed that they were definitely not dumping products and that the US had no reason to implement stricter and rigid protection measures.
